Dance Ready: Attire & Performance Prep
Welcome to Perrysburg Dance Academy! Proper preparation is essential for a successful dance experience, whether you are stepping into the studio for the first time or are an experienced dancer ready to shine on stage. Below you’ll find everything you need to know about what to wear to class and how to prepare for performances.
Performance Hair & Makeup
Preparing for performances can be just as important as the dance itself. Here’s how to ensure your look is stage-ready!
For performances, our standard style is a side-parted low bun. Use pomade to tame any stray hairs. A tutorial for creating the perfect bun can be found here.
* Ages 2.5 – 6: A touch of blush and a light gloss are ideal.
* Ages 7 – 10: A toned-down version of older dancers’ makeup using neutral tones is recommended. For advanced techniques, check this YouTube tutorial.
Males should maintain a neat appearance; hair should be clean and away from the face. A simple makeup application can help cover any blemishes. For tips on achieving a polished look, refer to this helpful tutorial.
Essential Dancewear Guidelines
Every dancer should arrive prepared for class. We recommend a dedicated dance bag to keep shoes and essential items organized. Parents: please label all dancewear and footwear with your child’s name to help return lost items!
